Emirates Cutting Capacity to US: After the government’s electronics ban, some airlines have adjusted or have just gone with the flow. Emirates on the other hand is pulling some flights to the US due to the weakened demand. The electronics ban has affected many already when flying from certain areas to the US. Will there be other airlines to follow?
United Basic Economy Fares Live on Several Routes: It looks like a number of routes are offering basic economy seats. When searching for paid flights you may notice basic economy, economy and economy (flexible) options. The price goes up from basic economy to economy (flexible). I don’t necessarily see basic economy as a bad thing. I like having a low cost option to only pay for what I need, especially on short flights.
Daily Getaway Previews: Weeks 3, 4 and 5 Daily Getaway deals have been revealed. There are a few deals that are interesting. There are some Las Vegas deals that could interest you if you’re heading to Sin City. Also there are Choice Privilege points and Hilton points available for sale. Discounted Marriott gift cards are available and the always popular, Hyatt points are for sale. Some deals are better than others. IHG Data Breach Worse Than Initially Reported: IHG has confirmed that the malware was more widespread, affecting hundreds of properties. IHG has begun using Secure Payment Solution (SPS) to protect customers. According to the investigation, properties that utilized SPS prior to September 29,2016 were not affected with this data breach. I hope they start to implement SPS at all properties!
