Hilton “Temporarily” Devalues Elite Status:  One of the things we enjoy with elite hotel status is the free breakfast.  It saves us money and depending on the property, the breakfasts are amazing!  Hilton is swapping free breakfast for F&B credits and the value isn’t the same.

Membership Rewards For Retirement?:  While many of us are taught that we get oversized value by transferring points to airlines/hotels as opposed to cash back, we shouldn’t reject the idea.  By looking at the big picture and crunching the numbers, you may be compelled to use your MR points a different way.

Vegas Resort Fees Are Going Up:  It’s no surprise that as travel begins to pick up, the hotel/resort industry is trying to make up for lost revenue.  One way is by increasing some fees, particularly resort fees.  If you’re wanting to go to Las Vegas, here are some ways to avoid those pesky resort fees.

The United Excursionist Perk:  We’ve covered this before on TM101, but it deserves to be mentioned again.  The United Excursionist Perk is an amazing way to extend your travel and the value of your points.  Once you figure out how it works, you’ll be daydreaming of ways to apply it.

Changes To The Amex Platinum:  There are some confirmed changes to the beloved Amex Platinum.  The biggest negative change to the card is the increased annual fee.  There are some new perks added.  Time to crunch the numbers to see if it makes sense for you.

Ultimate Guide To Membership Rewards:  The Membership Rewards ecosystem is the one I value the most as they have many cards to suit your spending style and their points are valuable.  Here’s a great guide to explain more.

Centurion Lounge Changes:  There have been a lot of changes coming out of American Express lately.  Not all of the changes are positive.  One that’s getting a lot of chatter is the change to guest access to the Centurion Lounge.
