Book Now to Save on Summer Travel:  According to some data, if you’ve been planning on a trip this summer, you should book this week to save some cash.  It’s tough to tell when you should, or shouldn’t book your paid flights and hotels, but maybe you’ll find this data useful.

Alaska Joins the Basic Economy Bandwagon:  The “Big 3” have already implemented basic economy, so it makes sense that others would follow.  Alaska Airlines announced they will be offering basic economy fares this coming fall. Woohoo!

Buy Starpoints at a 35% Discount:  As time ticks away for the SPG program, there’s still some time to make a splash with Starpoints.  Currently you can buy Starpoints at up to a 35% discount. You could definitely get a lot of value out of these points.  Don’t buy them unless you have a redemption in mind.

The End of UR Pooling???:  So a “trusted source” to some bloggers has stated that the ability to pool our Ultimate Rewards points in a household, and the ability to move points to a more valuable card may be no more.  At this point it’s all speculation, but you may plan accordingly just in case.
